Book Trailer Contest

You know those commercials they have for movies before the feature film?  Well, we want you to make one for The Secret of the Cheese Syndicate.  The winning team will get to have the author, Donna St. Cyr, visit with the group of their choice.*  The top 5 teams will all get t-shirts and free signed books as well as having their trailers posted on www.cbaybooks.com for voting.

Rules:

  • Each team should consist of 1-5 people.  All members should be between the ages of 7-12.  One adult can help (for instance holding the camera), but he/she can’t be on the team.
  • The trailer should be about the book, a scene from the book, characters from the book, really anything about the book.
  • The trailer can be you and your friends acting, claymation, stop-action, a cartoon, or even a photo montage – but you can’t use anything that someone else owns the copyright.  So, if you use music, you have to make it up yourselves.
  • Movies should be no longer than 1 minute.  (30 seconds is perfect)
  • To enter, send a CD or DVD to CBAY Books along with the official entry form and permission slips. You can post your film anywhere you like, but for it to enter the contest, you have to physically send it to us. We will not accept web links.
  • All entries must be received by September 30, 2010.
  • Voting will take place between October 15-31 on this site.
  • Winners will be announced on November 5, 2010.

* Donna will do an in-person visit for any winner in the lower 48 United States. International, Hawaiian, Alaskan, and territorial winners will receive a Skype visit instead.

The Fine Print: Void where prohibitted. We reserve the right to suspend or cancel this contest at any moment. Any inappropriate content will be disqualified immediately. Any questions, email us at .
