About the Book
After his younger sister drinks a shrinking potion, Robert finds himself the newest unlikely hero to be drafted into the Secret Cheese Syndicate. With almost no training and no idea what he’s doing, Robert must find his way to the lost city of Eliki in Greece.
Unfortunately not everyone shares the Syndicate’s goal to defend the world against evil and bad taste. Quite a number of foes, some of them straight out of Greek mythology, would like to see Robert fail in his mission.
If Robert and his sister are going to find the Mystic Cheese of Eliki and rescue his missing father, they will have to learn not only the secrets of the cheese but also how to work together.

Reviews
“The Secrets of the Cheese Syndicate is a wild ride through a cheesy world mixed with mythology and adventure. A perfect book for boys–it reminds me a bit of M.T. Anderson’s work. …This is a terrific book for middle-grade kids, especially boys, although girls will enjoy it, too! It is a perfect read-aloud book for elementary classrooms.”

“Other adults that I have shown this book to have declared that they wish they could be a member of the Secret Cheese Syndicate.“

“It was hard for me to grasp the concept of Donna St. Cyr’s The Secrets of the Cheese Syndicate until I picked up the book - and then I did not want to put it down. … I enjoyed being swept up in the cheese syndicate world, and I am excited to share the book with my students.”

“It’s a fun book, once the cheese is swallowed, as it were. It’s not one I’d necessarily be quick to press into the hands of an adult reader, but for a nine or ten-year old (especially one who has an interest in Greek mythological creatures), it might very well strike a chord. The language is straightforward, the adventure episodic (which I think is helpful for readers that age who still don’t have tons of confidence), and the monster encounters are exciting.”

“Secrets of the Cheese Syndicate has a lot going for it: fast-paced action, very believable relationships, good humor which makes the story remarkably readable. Fans of Percy Jackson will doubtless enjoy the references to mythology and the non-stop action plot.”
