Cost: Free – but requires a minimum nonreturnable order of the author’s booksEvery year CBAY sends our authors to schools at no cost to the school either as part of book tours or other local events. Because this involves considerable expense for us (and we’re small so we have small budgets) we have a limited number of free visits each year. We also ask that each school’s students or booster club purchase a minimum number of the author’s books for the author to sign during the visit. This number will vary depending on the size of the school and the distance from the author’s hometown. During the visit, the author will give at least one 30-45 minute presentation to as large of a crowd as your school would like. The topic will be determined prior to your school visit. As part of your visit, the author will sign as many books as the students would like and your school will receive one copy of the author’s latest book for your library and a reproducible activity guide for future activities.
Skype:
Cost: FreeAll of our authors are available to Skype for free. During a Skype session, our authors will interact with a class-size number of students (5-25) for 25-30 minutes. We will discuss with you in advance what the topic of conversation will be. As part of the visit, your school will receive one free copy of the author’s latest book for your library, signed book plates for the number of students participating, and a reproducible activity guide to the book.
To facilitate interaction between the students and author, we ask that at least half the class have read the book in advance and that all the students are familiar with the book’s main themes and concepts.
